Winding down...

the month of June. It has been a busy one to say the least. Between school break, trip to Atlanta, MIL's B-day, Father's Day & my B-day...it seems as though it's been non-stop. Yesterday was nice. We stayed home and watched movies. I did not even turn the computer back on! We enjoyed a family dinner & Mike is working on 2 possibly 3 new jobs! Praise God for His provision. My prayer is to close on one job a month. Just to have work coming in is a blessing. 2010 is looking up for KDS & I am so thankful because 2008 & 2009 were slow to dead as far as business goes! So the end of June, the start of July & I am wondering if I am really doing everything I am suppose to be doing. Am I being used everyday the way that God intends? I don't think so. I have been abusing my body & not being a very good mom or wife. I struggle with myself & at times question why I am the way I am. I know that He created me, but I can't help but wonder why sometimes, ...

My Birthday!

Today is my Birthday!!!!! I don't know why I'm so happy about it being my birthday, I have nothing special planned & it's not like I'm taking off or taking a break. I think it's just because I like the fact that I have lived another year & I am so grateful for my life. This is a far cry from 20 years ago. Amazing how God can take what you view as ruined and make it something so beautiful & wonderful. I am so blessed and humbled. So YEAH ~ today is my birthday & I am so thankful. I don't have much to say other than that. I'm at work right now, a meeting @ 1130 & and work this evening. Good thing I love what I do! Well...have a great day! ~Peace & Blessings~ Jen

I am looking forward..

to this week, but first ~ let me tell you how excited I am about this past weekend! First of all ~ I had a great time Friday night with Mike. I just love when I have a date with my husband! We had such a great time & it's been a while since we've had that. Saturday was all about the kids & my MIL! The kids had Karate practice Saturday morning & then home for lunch before going back for Karate for their belt test. I am so happy that they all memorized their Bible verses & did their Kata w/o hesitation! I am so very proud of them. Saturday was also my Mother-In-Law's birthday! She came over for dinner & and gifts. That was nice & of course... Yesterday was Father's Day! The kids prepared breakfast for Daddy & then we went to church. Nichole performed with the stick ministry & we just celebrated with all the people that attend Blythe Island Baptist Church. It was great. We went to lunch & then just relaxed for the day. Today I started my...

Um...yeah...*YAWN*

I am just a wee bit tired this morning. Last night was great, but this morning I am still trying to get in gear. What kept me up you ask? Chris & Conrad! They were here in Brunswick for a concert last night & it was good. Jayme, Bart & I enjoyed hanging out with not just Chris and Conrad, but also sisters Tal and Acacia. We did the promotions for the station and helped Aadam with the World Vision give away they had last night. I had only 2 of my children with me, Logan was a bit too tired to hang last night. He was not happy about the decision, but it was made & we stuck with it. Sometimes the hardest part about being a parent is sticking with the decision that you make for your child. We took a lot of great photos and my kids had a great time at the concert. Once I got home I uploaded the pictures on Facebook before heading into bed. I was wired...go figure, but this morning I am paying the price with a foggy head. Today I need to focus. I have to get my thoughts in or...

I am praying...

that Chris & Conrad are OK. They were suppose to be here at the station by 8AM, but it's 0912 & no word on where they are. I'm sure they are fine, but I am praying regardless. I am actually excited about today ~ today is a great day. God has provided so much for my family & I am just so thankful. I am feeling humble and awed by Him today. I met the some really amazing people last night while I was at work at the Brunswick Millhouse. It is always great to sit down and learn about others...where they are from & what they are doing. I met Suzanne last night. She is going to college in CA. She is finishing her degree in Forensic Psychology . She was a very interesting person & I hope our paths cross again. I did learn, as I sat and talked with Suzanne, that she lost her older brother when she was 9. She was there with her mom...and she shared a part of her story with me last night after I had told her that I am writing a book about moms & the children that t...

A mini break...

was definatly the right thing to do! I know that I have been busy running around all over the place lately, but it has been for everyone buy me & I was really ready to just take a couple of days to catch up with my "other mother" - Martha. I've known Martha since I was 14 and my dad was stationed at Whitman AFB, Knob Noster, MO. The drive was really quick - as quick as 5 hours can go in a car. The kids did a real good job with keeping the noise down and not fussing. Once we got here we enjoyed brief hello's and got right into pictures. It has been a few years & the kids have grown & changed so much. Pizza was on the menu tonight...the kids loved it and now that I am settled into the evening & wanted to just reflect on today just a bit. Everytime I get with Martha I am just amazed by her wisdom and I learn from her and glean wisdom from her each time we are together. Martha Hale is just an inspiration to me. To hear stories of her past and to hear of al...

How can it be...

the middle of the week already? I must say that I really wanted to blog and work yesterday, but I was not motivated enough to even turn the computer on. I have been very tired as of late. More tired than usual & I'm wondering why I'm feeling this way. I think it's time to add more B-Vitamins. Well I am gearing up for another trip to Atlanta. It will be more of a relaxing get away to visit some friends. Just me and the kids. Nichole is very excited to visit my friends, Martha & Lowell. Nichole has been learning about Martin Luther King, Jr. and wants to ask Lowell his experiences of the Civil Rights Movement. I am glad that she has taken a real interest in how our society has changed in recent history. Yesterday we took pictures for the station. The photo shoot was a lot of fun & I think that most of the shots are goofy, but we did get some real good ones for the upcoming new and improved website. Today Bart & I are interviewing Chris & Conrad. They...

kidsbowlfree.com: Kids Bowl Free All Summer Long!

I love to bowl & I hope that my kids will love it as much as I do. I am already at my local bowling alley once a week so why not bowl for free! This is a great family activity & bowling helps instill teamwork & good sportsmanship. When my friend, Mike, told me about this great summer deal, well I just couldn't pass it up & it would be wrong of me not to share it with everyone I know! kidsbowlfree.com: Kids Bowl Free All Summer Long! ~Peace & Blessings~ Jen

Too Much...

Information (TMI) in my head today! There's so much in my head that I feel like I am going to scream. Bart & I have been "teasing" upcoming events, but we can't really give any details yet & it almost feels like I'm keeping a secret. I guess in a way I am, and I'm terrible at keeping secrets - well exciting news I guess I should say. But I know that I can blog about them so that is what I'm going to do! This summer starting June 13th we are going to have a Summer Wave Promotional it's WAY RADIO SUNDAYS!! You go to our website, www.wayradio.org, starting next week & click on the Summer Waves logo for the $9.07 tickets. You'll have to buy 10 @ a time, but that is a great deal!!! The next big thing is our 8th Annual Beach Concert!!! I'm so excited about this years concert because we are having KUTLESS & DOVE AWARD WINNER'S SIDEWALK PROPHETS! I have really enjoyed watching their careers blossom & I'm looking forward ...

Mid-Week is here...

and I am very very tired. I really did not want to get up this morning, but I did & I brought my coffee with me today. I had no time to let it brew at home. So yesterday was a very interesting day to say the least. I have to say that the kids are off to a good start with their summer chores & school work. All of us read for 30 minutes yesterday (some more than others, but all 30 minutes), and the kids all took their 5 minuted AIMS tests so they can stay sharp for the fall. This week we are focusing on piano & I am needing it just as much as they do. I started piano lessons in the fall & we have dropped it because of time, but I really want to continue & it seems that Nichole & Thomas do too. All the kids practiced their Karate yesterday as well. They are belt testing in 2 weeks so they were working on their moves & scripture. I have to say that when you have structure in place, things seem to run smoothly. My prayer today is that we maintain on the momentum ...

New month...

new work week, new music, new...well new outlook too! I have decided to make June the month of new beginnings. We had a great week last week as we wrapped up the school year & I worked on the summer schedule. I am determined to stay an active part of my children's life and I have planned several family outings & some get out of town adventures for various weekends. I'm excited that my niece & nephew will be coming down to visit towards the end of the month & I know that the kids will be so happy. We have not told them yet...we are keeping it quiet until just before they are due to arrive. So I am also looking forward to spending more time in God's Word & to help the kids continue to memorize Bible verses. All of them are preparing to test for the next belt in Karate. They are all doing so well! I am also concentrating on streamlining my home & my doing what I can to downsize while doing so & finding ways to save even more money. We've done al...
