Spiritual War

is very taxing. Have you ever been attacked so much that you don't even want to try to fight anymore. Been there done that...what are you to do. Remember that the only way to defeat the enemy is to engage the enemy. We have to fight.

I have been struggling all morning with thoughts that just need to be captured and contained...they need to be destroyed to be honest, but they are there nonetheless. You know that Satan knows our every weakness. He just loves to use them against us too. To make you and I feel unworthy or that it's just not worth it any more to "try" to be "good". That is when you engage & fight! Let your prayer partner or best friend know what is going on inside your head. Don't be afraid to speak the truth of the matter with those you trust. They won't judge you, but they can help you defeat the temptations that you struggle with.

The 2nd thing I'll say to do is memorize scripture that can help you during an attack. A good friend of mine sent me 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5 this morning & it was perfect. To know these words inside & out is what I will strive for.

"For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."


I need to stay strong in the Word of God and trust in Jesus Christ. The temptation is just that...temptation...it becomes sin when you act on the temptation. So pray and speak God's Word & flee from the strongholds that spiritual bind you. Break free and flee. That is my battle cry today.

Discipline In Discipleship

Accepting Jesus Christ as Savior is easy. We learn at a young age that Jesus is knocking at our hearts and is asking to enter in. We sing songs of God's love. We so very quickly accept God's forgiveness when we sin. We can justify our actions through Jesus loving us as we are. Following Jesus as Master and Teacher is hard. Again, we learn at a young age that the world is a cold, cruel place. We view hatred on TV and social media. To forgive when we have been wronged is almost impossible. Inside Outside

Why do we view sins as not so bad, bad, and really bad? I have been thinking a lot about this over the past week. Isn't sin, sin? Are we to judge as God judges? God's word says; "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." -Romans 3:23 My sins, and they are many, are not better or worse than yours or your neighbors - or anyone else's for that matter. So who are we to pass judgement on another? Why spew contentment and hate when we know what another person's sin is? Isn't God's forgiveness and love for them just as much as it is for us?
